Associate Attorney

Elder Law, Estate Planning & Guardianships
Syracuse, NY | $75,000–100,000 + Bonus + Benefits

The Marrone Law Firm, P.C. is a boutique elder law and estate planning firm in Syracuse, New York. We focus on complex Medicaid planning, trust drafting, guardianships, and Surrogate’s Court practice.

We are seeking an attorney (0–3 years experience preferred) who wants to build deep technical expertise in a stable, recession-resistant practice area.

This is not a high-volume, billable-hour firm. You will work directly with senior attorneys on substantive drafting, strategy, and court matters while developing meaningful client-facing skills.

What You’ll Actually Do

  • Draft wills, irrevocable trusts, and related estate planning documents

  • Assist with Medicaid planning strategies and nursing home applications

  • Prepare Surrogate’s Court pleadings and accountings

  • Attend court appearances

  • Meet with clients

  • Work closely with our legal team to move files efficiently and accurately

You will receive hands-on mentorship and meaningful responsibility early.

Who This Role Is For

This position is ideal for someone who:

  • Is admitted in New York (or pending admission)

  • Has strong writing and drafting ability

  • Is detail-oriented and organized

  • Prefers substantive legal work over sales or business development

  • Wants to become technically strong in elder law and estate planning

Experience in trusts & estates, elder law, or Surrogate’s Court is helpful but not required.

We value professionalism, reliability, and good judgment more than flashy resumes.

What We Offer

  • Salary range: $75,000–100,000 (based on experience)

  • Annual performance-based bonus

  • No billable hour requirements

  • Profit-sharing and retirement matching

  • Health and dental insurance

  • Flexible 4/1 hybrid schedule

  • Office closes at 1:00 p.m. on Fridays year-round

  • A collaborative, team-oriented environment

We have been recognized as a Best Place to Work in Central New York and named to Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces list.

Growth Path

This role is designed to develop a technically strong attorney with increasing responsibility over time. Advancement opportunities are available for the right candidate.
